Fetch adds Chicago office

Fetch Logistics Inc. has opened a new branch office in Chicago.
“By opening up a branch office in the Midwest region of the country, we can both grow and provide our Midwestern customers with the individualized customer service that Fetch is known for,” said Fetch’s vice president of sales and marketing David Bryk.
The company, which employs 60 at its Amherst headquarters, provides full-truckload and rail transportation services to manufacturing and warehouse companies throughout the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Gary Zoldos, Fetch’s vice president of corporate development, said seven people staff the new office, and no Amherst employees will be moving to the Midwest to run it.
Chicago, he said, was chosen from among a short list of cities to expand to, partially because of the number of Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in the vicinity.
“It’s also one of the prime destinations for freight going in, because of the volume,” Zoldos said.
Zoldos said the Fetch business model allows a singular point of contact for customers. It is desirous for staff, he said, to perform multiple roles and have a deep understanding of customer needs, weather and traffic patterns, among other things.
“To be successful and give good personal service, you need a common voice for your customers, people who automatically know what it means when a customer asks to have a second truck sent to their site,” Zoldos said.
Zoldos said the company exceeded $30 million in revenues last year. As it adds branches, he said, the Amherst headquarters may need additional personnel. However, he said it is too early in the year to tell what kind of jobs or how many will be needed.
